The Condorcet Group

The Condorcet Group, founded in 2002 by Eric Szuter of the New Orleans area, is a grassroots organization presently consisting of four professional Louisiana men. Its sole purpose is to attempt to bring a greater goodness to America and to the world by means of influencing the final design decision pertaining to the rebuilding of Ground Zero. The group takes its name from French philosopher Marquis de Condorcet, one of the last influential intellectuals of the historical period known as "The Enlightenment". Considering the circumstances of his life and his outlook, Condorcet should qualify as the supreme optimist of all time. Since his outlook is in concert with the group's and since the present odds against the group succeeding are extremely high, the optimistic Condorcet is the perfect patron for the group.

Eric Szuter

Eric Szuter of the New Orleans area is the founder of the Condorcet Group. Born with the heart of a philosopher and a mind inclined toward science, in 1969 he was graduated from Case Western Reserve University in engineering. In 1989 Szuter was registered in the state of Louisiana as a mechanical engineer. For over thirty years, he has earned his living in the construction industry. However, at the same time, he has continued his education by doing graduate work in business administration, education, and human ethology. Szuter has had the great fortune to have studied under astrophysicist-philosopher Andrew J. Galambos of California and biologist-philosopher Doctor David Stenhouse of New Zealand. He has authored several articles and the book The Return of Common Sense. Szuter's Critique of Ownership -- An Objective System of Societal Ethics Arising from the Biological Properties, a dissertation in the field of human ethology, is in its final stages.

Raymond C. Bergeron, Jr., of the New Orleans area is an accomplished architect with a formidable resumé. In 1963 he was graduated in architecture from Tulane University; three years later, he later founded his design firm Raymond C. Bergeron, Architect, LLC. Bergeron a thoughtful as well as creative man also authored an article, "The Philosophy of the Skyscraper", that was published in 1986 by Lehigh University's book High Rise: Recent Progress. As the rendering of One America Place clearly indicates, he has a special talent that becomes more than obvious in the conceptual stage of a new project. Bergeron serves as Master Architect for the Condorcet Group.

Lawrence C. Gibbs

Larry Gibbs of the New Orleans area, a successful general contractor, is a man with both feet on the ground. He is the founder and owner of Gibbs Construction Company, LLC. In 1969 he was graduated from Louisiana State University in civil engineering. Gibbs was later registered in the state of Louisiana as a civil engineer. He founded his company on July 4, 1976. A businessman with a healthy respect for philosophy, he credits much of his success to his having a personal philosophical foundation with a positive stability. Hoping to share the benefits of such with others, he authored and published the book Simple Living and High Thinking. An eminently practical man, Larry Gibbs serves as the Condorcet Group's connection with the real world.

Evan Soulé, Jr.

Evan Soulé, Jr. of New Orleans is a freelance editor and artist. In 1971 he was graduated from Tulane University and, shortly thereafter, co-founded "The National Committee to Legalize Gold". (This is the organization that spearheaded the grassroots campaign that ultimately restored the freedom for all Americans to own gold in any form). Soon after that successful venture, Soulé began his more than ten years of studies under astrophysicist-philosopher Andrew J. Galambos. Since 1975 and concurrent with his ongoing educational pursuits, Soulé has assisted innovators and inventors with the publication and dissemination of their original work.
